~Ansel Adams~

Ansel was born in San Fransisco in 1902, as he was growing up he had a hard time fitting in at his regular school because of his diagnosed hyperactive problem and also he had dyslexia which it made it hard for him to be successful at school, his aunt and dad tutored him at home. Although he had many mental, physical and emotional problems he still graduated with a “legitimizing diploma." He also had other interests such as teaching himself to read music and play the piano; by 1920 it became his intended profession. He had to give up piano and music for photography.  As his career grew so did his fame and amazing work. On 1927 he first fully visualized photograph, Monolith, the Face of Half Dome, and took his first High Trip. Albert M. Bender, published his first portfolio. This was a big step for Ansel because his work was viewed by many people and they loved his work, it was inspiring and fresh.
1. He wrote "ten volumes of technical manuals on photography, which are the most influential books ever written on the subject."
2.Photography was his life. he spent 18 hours(per day) working. He never took off holidays no vacations for Ansel. When he had enough he would go back to San Francisco to contract the "flu" and rest for a bit.
3. He was a drinker, not alcoholic but he knew how to party, he was the center of attention where ever he went.

I chose this photograph because the shading of the landscape is amazing, I love how the reflection of the bridge and trees blur out to become just a shadow. I like how the front trees pop-out giving them all the focus. The taller trees outline the mountain, being the whitest and lightest one in the picture. Also the trees in the background make the lightest objects pop-out. The scenery gives you a feeling of relaxation and calmness, it's like everything is so still and perfect that it sucks you into the picture.
